Today was our final day on the bus. stop-the-bus-day-seven-1.jpgWe started the day by packing the bus for the last time and after that we all had a nice goodbye breakfast together.

After breakfast and saying goodbye to Carol from the Athenian Villa we headed for Botrivier where we were supposed to do a presentation on Rape Crisis. We arrived at 9 o’clock and the presentation was only at 10 o’clock so we decided to follow up on our great success from yesterday and headed for a community with a mix of Afrikaans and Xhosa speaking people.

We split up in to smaller groups and I went with Nomonde and Edith.  Nomonde is really afraid of dogs and I promised her that I would talk to the dogs while she spoke to the people in the community.  Initially though, we went into a house where they had a small puppy and then Nomonde forgot all about being afraid of dogs. Look how sweet it was and how happy Nomonde looks!

We went to several houses and the people in the community seemed very receptive and were really nice to us.  Most of them invited us in while we did our small presentation on Rape Crisis and distributed the books and leaflets.

After having visited the community we went back to the sports ground where we were supposed to do our presentation, but due to the fact that a lot of people had not yet arrived and it was getting late, we decided to head home.  On our way back to Cape Town we stopped at a small restaurant to have some coffee and cake.

This was our final meal together and afterwards we headed for Cape Town and started to drop people off at their homes.  First on our stop was Nomonde.  Her mother was really happy to have her back!

Ntuthu spoke a lot about her husband on the trip and she was really looking forward to getting back to him. Just see how happy she looks!

When we dropped Nokwaka off we took a final small group picture. Everyone was really happy about being home.
