Today is the last day for the first trip of the Stop The Bus Campaign!
We started the day off with a networking meeting at the Zwelihle Community Hall in Hermanus. Emma facilitated the meeting, aiming to connect recources that are allready available, with different community leaders and organisations in Hermanus.
Veerle De Creane, policy officer at Oxfam Belguim and Shiralee Mc Donald, Stop The Bus coordinator joined the team in Hermanus today.

Emma, facilitating the networking meeting:
After the networking meeting, a community workshop was held with members of the community. We were glad to see a large group that attended. Bajija and Noulthando facilitated the workshop and informed the community on rape.
‘It was great to see that people care, as we see by the really big turnout of members from within the Zwelihle Community.’ -Shiralee, coordinator of the Stop The Bus campaign.

After a long and successful week, the Stop The Bus team headed home. We want to thank our funders, Womankind Worldwide and First for Women for helping Rape Crisis Cape Town to reach out to communities which desperately needs to be informed.
A BIG thank you from the Stop The Bus team for the opportunity to share our experiences! Good luck to the second crew, departing to Worcester next week- remeber to go out and be a blessing to others!

Hi guys, I followed you on the blog as you were travelling through the different towns. Had a number of responses in my email in box in support of the campaign. You must understand that some, with very good intentions, are still technologically challenged. A “blog” is not an every day english word. So dit was bietjie Grieks vir van hulle! (It was strange terminology). Enjoy your weekend and enjoy the rest.

I am amazed by all the incredible work you have done in just one week. You are a testament to the value of Rape Crisis and its vision of a South Africa where rape survivors are supportedby their communities and in all their interactions with the Criminal Justice System. Welcome back! You are all a blessing to others.
Love, Kath
Well done on all your hard work in this incredible heat. I am looking forward to the day when I will be experienced enough to participate.
Hi everyone,
